Illustrative example — not live Amazon data
Structuring a launch for a bamboo cutting board set
Scenario. A seller launching “Bamboo Cutting Board Set” has $20/day and four seed keywords, and wants a structure that won’t need rebuilding in a month.
Inputs. Product name, $20 daily budget, four seed keywords, and the Launch preset.
What the output means. Four campaigns: Auto Discovery at $10/day (bid $1.00), Exact at $4 (bid $1.15), Phrase at $4 (bid $0.90), Broad at $2 (bid $0.70) — plus junk negatives (free, cheap, used, refurbished) pre-seeded, and a CSV export shaped for Amazon’s bulk upload.
Concrete next action. Upload the CSV, run it for two weeks, then harvest converting search terms into the Exact campaign and negate them in Auto so discovery keeps finding new terms instead of re-buying old ones.

A short walkthrough of the Amazon PPC Campaign Builder — what to enter, what you get back, and what to do next.
Pro tips: getting the most from the Campaign Builder
The builder turns a product, a budget and a keyword list into a complete campaign architecture. These five practices turn that architecture into performance.
Launch wide, then scale the winners
The Launch preset puts 50% of budget into auto discovery with exact, phrase and broad keywords alongside it — that discovery is the point. Run it for 2–4 weeks, pull the search-term report, and identify the terms that actually converted. Then rebuild with the Scale preset: 50% into exact match on proven winners, discovery kept small to keep feeding you new terms. Launch finds; scale harvests.
Override the starting bid with real numbers
Without an override, the builder sets the base bid to your daily budget divided by 25 (clamped between $0.40 and $1.80) — a reasonable placeholder, nothing more. If you know your category’s suggested bid range, enter it as the bid override; the whole structure’s per-match-type multipliers (exact 1.15×, phrase 0.9×, broad 0.7×) then scale from reality instead of a guess. Adjust everything after the first 20–30 clicks of real data.
Keep junk negatives at campaign level
Free, cheap, used, refurbished — terms that can never convert for your product should be blocked at the campaign level so no ad group can spend on them. The builder adds its junk list at campaign level by default; review and extend it before export. Campaign-level negatives are your cheapest insurance: one line of prevention beats weeks of wasted clicks.
Respect the 20-keyword cap per structure
The builder dedupes your list and caps each structure at 20 keywords. That’s a feature, not a limitation — 20 tightly themed keywords per campaign keep budgets focused and reporting readable. If your list is longer, build a second structure around the next theme instead of stuffing 60 keywords into one campaign where the winners starve the losers of budget.
Export the plan, then generate the real sheet
The CSV download is a planning sheet for your media plan — it is not an Amazon bulk-upload file, and the tool labels it as such. Use it to review budgets, bids and structure with your team, then feed the finalized keyword list into the Bulk Sheet Generator (Pro) to produce the actual upload-ready CSV. Plan here; upload there.
