Listing Quality Grader

Paste your title, bullets and description. This tool grades them against a transparent best-practice checklist and shows exactly what to fix — it grades only, it does not rewrite your copy.

Put each bullet on its own line. Line breaks separate the bullets.

Amazon allows 249 bytes — this counts real UTF-8 bytes, not characters.

Measures what share of your target keywords actually appears in the copy.

Worked example

Illustrative example — not live Amazon data

Diagnosing a listing with flat conversion

Scenario. An established kitchen listing gets steady traffic but conversion has stalled for two months.

Inputs. The live title (92 characters), four bullet points, and the current product description.

What the output means. Score: 62/100. Title FAILS (92 > 75 characters); bullets score 70 (only four, and spec-led instead of benefit-led); images flagged (“add lifestyle shots and a product video”); A+ Content missing entirely. Fixes are ordered by impact, so the title comes first.

Concrete next action. Rewrite the title to 75 characters first — it’s the biggest visibility win — then add a fifth benefit-led bullet, then re-run the grader to confirm the score climbs before touching images or A+.

Watch how it works

A short walkthrough of the Amazon Listing Quality Checker — what to enter, what you get back, and what to do next.

Pro tips: getting the most from the Listing Quality Grader

The grader scores your listing 0–100 across 11 weighted checks. These five habits will move that score the fastest.

Fix the red items first — they carry the most weight

Not all checks are equal: title length is worth 20 points and media 15, while stuffing signals are worth 7. The “Fix these first” list is already sorted by impact, so work it top-down. A single failing title-length check costs more than three minor warnings combined — clearing the heaviest red items first is the fastest route from a 55 to an 80.

Aim for five bullets of 100–200 characters

The grader wants exactly 5 bullets, each landing in the 100–200 character sweet spot, with at least 3 using benefit words like enjoy, durable, easily or worry-free. One idea per bullet: feature plus the reason it matters. If your average bullet runs 40 characters, expand with specifics — sizes, materials, what’s in the box. If one runs 400, split it.

Stay under ~245 backend bytes, not exactly 249

Amazon ignores backend search terms past 249 bytes, and the grader warns you from 245 — deliberately. Sitting exactly at 249 means your next edit silently pushes terms over the edge. Trim to 244 or fewer by removing duplicates, brand names and any word already in your title, and you’ll have a safety margin for future tweaks.

Scrub the banned phrases the grader flags

The risky-phrase scan is literal: “best seller”, “#1”, “guaranteed”, “free shipping” and “100% satisfaction” in your title or description fail the check because they can trigger Amazon listing or policy issues. Replace them with neutral, factual wording — measured claims instead of superlatives.

Write one line a voice assistant could quote

The conversational-search check looks for three signals: a size or quantity, the material, and one concrete benefit phrased the way a shopper would say it. “32oz stainless steel bottle that keeps drinks cold for 24 hours” answers what voice and chat assistants actually ask. If your copy never states the material or a size, add it — that’s a quote waiting to happen.

AMZ listing optimization tool FAQs

Straight answers about amazon listing quality checker and how this free tool fits your workflow.

Paste your title, bullets and description into the grader. It runs each section against a visible checklist — title length, bullet count and quality, description coverage, image and A+ signals — and shows a score per section with the exact checks that failed.
Above 70 out of 100 is solid; below 60 means something structural needs fixing. The report orders fixes by impact, so you always know whether the title, bullets or media deserve attention first.
The lowest-scoring section — usually the title, since it’s what shoppers see in search results. Then bullets, then images and A+ Content. Fixing in score order beats guessing.
Very. Bullets are indexed for search and they’re where benefit-led copy converts browsers into buyers. Aim for five bullets, 10–225 characters each, written benefit-first rather than spec-first.
A compliant title (75 characters or fewer), five benefit-led bullets, a complete description, seven or more images including lifestyle shots, a product video, A+ Content, and a filled backend search-terms field. The grader checks each of these.
