N-Gram Analyzer

Paste search terms from any Amazon search term report and the analyzer counts every 1, 2 and 3-word phrase inside them — plain frequency math on the text you paste, nothing pulled from Amazon. High-frequency phrases usually point at your root keywords; phrases that appear across lots of spending terms but never convert are your negative keyword candidates.

Tokens shorter than 3 characters and pure numbers are ignored.

Why run an n-gram analysis on your Amazon search terms?

Search term reports show you exact shopper queries, but they don't show you the patterns. N-gram analysis breaks thousands of queries into their component phrases, revealing the root words behind your clicks, spend, and sales — the signal buried in the noise.

Use it two ways: harvest frequent phrases into exact-match campaigns, and flag phrases that appear across lots of spending terms without converting. Those are your negative keyword candidates. Pair it with the Search Term Harvester and Negative Keyword Analyzer to act on what you find.

How does the n-gram analyzer work?

From raw search terms to clear phrase patterns in under a minute:

  1. Paste your search terms — one per line — from any Amazon search term report or keyword list.
  2. Choose the phrase lengths to analyze: single words, two-word pairs, three-word triplets, or all three.
  3. Hit Analyze to get sorted frequency tables showing each phrase and how many search terms contain it.
  4. Sort, copy the top 50, or download the full table as CSV to feed your keyword harvesting.

Pro tips for n-gram analysis

1. Start with 2-word phrases. One-word phrases are too broad to act on; three-word phrases find long-tail gems but recur less often. Two-word stems are the sweet spot — specific enough to bid on, common enough to show patterns.

2. Paste a full search term report. Tokens under 3 characters and pure numbers are dropped automatically, so “32oz”-style noise and filler words don't clutter the tables. What remains are real shopper words.

3. Turn top n-grams into targets and negatives. High-frequency stems behind converting terms become exact or phrase match targets; high-frequency stems that never converted become negative phrase matches. One analysis feeds both lists.

4. Work from the top 50. The table shows up to 200 rows and the copy button takes the top 50 — that's your priority list. Export it, add performance columns from your report, and sort by orders before building campaigns.

N-Gram Analyzer FAQs

Yes — free forever, with no signup and no usage limits. It runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you paste is ever uploaded or stored anywhere.
Only from the text you paste in. The tool counts the phrases inside your own input — it does not pull search terms from Amazon, Seller Central, or anywhere else. Paste from your own search term reports for the best results.
An n-gram is a sequence of n consecutive words. One-word phrases (1-grams) show your most common single words, two-word phrases (2-grams) show word pairs, and three-word phrases (3-grams) show longer patterns. Together they reveal the root keywords hiding inside thousands of long search queries.
Two ways. First, harvest high-frequency phrases as new exact or phrase match keywords — if one phrase appears in 400 queries, it deserves its own target. Second, flag phrases that appear in lots of spending search terms but never convert; those are strong negative keyword candidates.
Thousands without a problem — everything happens locally in your browser, which handles large pastes easily. Each result table shows up to 200 rows to stay fast; download the CSV for the complete list.
Yes. All counting happens inside your browser tab. Your search terms never touch our servers, so sensitive account data stays exactly where it belongs — with you.
An n-gram is a sequence of n consecutive words from a search term — “wireless earbuds” is a 2-gram, “wireless earbuds pro” a 3-gram. By aggregating clicks, spend, and orders across every search term containing each n-gram, you spot which word combinations consistently perform, even when no single search term has enough data on its own.
More history gives more reliable patterns. A few weeks of search term report data across your campaigns is a reasonable starting point — with only a handful of terms, the groupings will be too thin to trust. Export from all campaign types together so no word combination is missed.
