1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you signed in and understand how the site is used. We also use similar technologies such as local storage. This policy explains the cookies used on BidPilot's website and services. Where this policy says “cookies,” it covers these similar technologies too unless the context says otherwise.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary. Required for core functionality such as keeping you signed in, maintaining your session and remembering security settings. The site cannot function properly without these.
- Functional. Remember your preferences, such as language, marketplace and dashboard settings.
- Analytics. Help us understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are visited and how long people stay) so we can improve the Service.
- Marketing. Used only with your consent to measure campaign performance and show relevant content.
3. Cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Session management, authentication, load balancing, security (e.g. CSRF protection) | Session up to 12 months |
| Functional | Language, marketplace, currency and dashboard preferences stored in your browser | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Aggregated usage statistics to improve features and performance | Up to 24 months |
| Marketing | Campaign attribution and relevance measurement (only with consent) | Up to 12 months |
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties we work with — for example, our payment processor during checkout and analytics providers. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies governing their use of your information.
5. Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies and notify you when a cookie is set. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the Service (including sign-in) from working. You can also opt out of analytics cookies where we provide an opt-out control, and of interest-based advertising via industry opt-out tools such as those offered by the NAI or your device's ad settings.
Browser by browser: where the cookie controls live. The exact labels change between versions, but the paths below are the standard ones:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies, where you can block third-party cookies, clear them on exit, or add exceptions for specific sites.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data, where you can clear data, manage exceptions, and choose how strictly trackers are blocked.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy, where you can manage website data and choose whether to block all cookies. On iPhone and iPad, these controls live in the system Settings app under Safari.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data, where you can block, clear, or allow cookies per site.
Withdrawing consent. Where we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies — for example analytics or marketing cookies — you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing your cookies and changing your browser settings as described above. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything that was already processed while consent was in place.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal and operational reasons. The current version will always be posted on this page with an updated date.

8. How long cookies stay on your device
Different cookies last for different lengths of time. Session cookies exist only while your browser is open and are deleted as soon as you close it — we use these to keep you signed in as you move between pages. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period so we can remember your preferences next time you visit.
As a rule of thumb: preference cookies typically last up to 12 months, analytics cookies up to 24 months, and security-related cookies only as long as your session. When a cookie expires it stops working automatically, and you can delete any cookie at any time using the browser controls described in section 5 above.
If you have questions about a specific cookie you have seen from bidpilot.online, write to support@bidpilot.online and we will identify it for you.
